Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake News Could Coming ‘Soon’

The awkwardly titled Dragon Quest III HD-2D remake was announced at a Dragon Quest special event in May 2021, and we haven’t seen the project since. Its trailer looks fantastic and the updated visuals breathe new life into the classic RPG, so we’ve been patiently waiting for more news ever since.
Luckily, Square Enix has plans for the relatively near future. In a new Famitsu interview with Dragon Quest creator Yuuji Horii (translated by Nintendo Everything), the legendary developer says: “We are hard at work on remastering Dragon Quest XII and Dragon Quest III HD-2D. Making plates! I can not say. many more, but we will probably announce more about DQIII soon. We’re glad people have high expectations for DQIII as well.”
Hopefully “soon” really means soon, not this time next year. Still, it’s nice to know that the project is on the way, even if it’s long overdue for us to take another look at it.

Robert has been a huge PlayStation fan since Tekken 2 and he still loves to clean the house. When he doesn’t work out his combos, he usually gets lost in the latest 100 hour RPG or, you know, replaying The Witcher 3.
I have a DQ7 remake for DS but would like to remake it for PS4/PS5/X-Box. If it’s worth it and the price is reasonable, I’ll buy it on the first day.
Square couldn’t even come up with a suitable name for their game. Show how much they care about the product.
The only HD2D game I care about. A cautiously optimistic take on Octopath 2. The rest doesn’t really do anything for me
I’m not sure if it will be released on PS, but I really hope that it will also have a physical version.
Great theme for video game screenshots [beware of slow connections] [retro and other games]
